Kandahar Industrialists Warn of Factory Relocations Over Power Shortages

DID Press: Industrialists in Afghanistan’s southern Kandahar province have warned that they may relocate their factories to other provinces if persistent electricity shortages are not addressed.

Factory owners say the power shortage has disrupted industrial operations and increased production costs, making it increasingly difficult for businesses to maintain their activities.

They warned that if the situation continues, industrial enterprises could face further pressure, potentially affecting the province’s production capacity and local economic activity.

The industrialists have called on the relevant authorities to address the electricity supply problem, stressing that reliable power is essential to sustaining factory operations and preserving Kandahar’s industrial capacity.
