Herat’s New $20 Million Passenger Terminal Set to Open Soon
DID Press: Afghanistan’s Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation says the new major passenger terminal in Herat is expected to be ready for operation within the next two weeks.

According to media reports, more than 50% of the construction work has been completed, while work on the project’s third phase is still underway.
Meanwhile, asphalt paving has begun on approximately three km of roads within the terminal complex.
The project is being built with an investment of more than $20 million and is intended to improve passenger transport services connecting Herat with other Afghan provinces.
Officials say that once the new terminal becomes operational, interprovincial passenger vehicles will be relocated from central Herat to the facility.
The terminal’s opening is expected to help organise interprovincial transport operations and improve passenger services in the city.
