DID Press: Republican candidates have sharply reduced references to US President Donald Trump in their campaign advertisements as the November 2026 midterm elections approach, according to Newsweek.

Data from advertising analytics firm AdImpact show that Trump was mentioned in just 1% of Republican campaign ads in October, down from 47% in May, the magazine reported.
By contrast, 21% of Democratic campaign advertisements in October referenced the US president, highlighting the differing approaches the two parties are taking toward Trump in their election messaging.
The shift comes amid concerns over Trump’s declining approval ratings and growing voter concerns about inflation and the rising cost of living in the United States. Economic pressures have become a key issue in campaign messaging as candidates seek to appeal to voters ahead of the midterm elections.
