CSTO to Supply Tajikistan with Weapons to Strengthen Afghanistan Border Security
DID Press: The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has announced that Russia and other member states will begin supplying equipment and weapons to Tajikistan by the end of this year to strengthen the country’s border with Afghanistan.

CSTO Secretary-General Talatbek Masadykov said Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus would begin deliveries of equipment and weapons to Tajikistan this autumn.
He said the programme aims to enhance security along the Tajik-Afghan border and will involve not only the provision of equipment but also the delivery of weapons.
The CSTO secretary-general stressed that the programme to strengthen Tajikistan’s border with Afghanistan should not be considered a threat to Afghanistan.
