Afghanistan Accuses Pakistan of Being the Main Source of Drug Smuggling
DID Press: Mufti Abdul Mateen Qani, spokesperson for Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior, says that most traditional and synthetic drugs are smuggled from Pakistan into Afghanistan across the Durand Line.

Qani said Afghan forces have stepped up efforts to prevent drug smuggling and called on Pakistan to fulfil its responsibilities in combating the trade.
He also urged the international community to put pressure on Pakistan to help prevent drug smuggling into Afghanistan and other Asian countries.
The Interior Ministry spokesperson further claimed that poppy cultivation in Afghanistan had been reduced to nearly zero, adding that the Taliban had fulfilled its responsibilities in the fight against narcotics.
