US Prepares to Deport More Than 150 Afghan Migrants
DID Press: The administration of US President Donald Trump is preparing to deport more than 150 Afghan nationals from the United States, a move that refugee advocacy groups say could affect family members of former Afghan military personnel who served alongside US forces.

Reuters, citing a US official and a coalition of veterans and refugee advocacy organizations, reported that many of those facing deportation left Afghanistan after the Taliban returned to power and US forces withdrew in 2021.
Shawn VanDiver, president of the AfghanEvac coalition, said some of those at risk of deportation are the brothers and sons of men who served alongside US forces. He warned that their families could face threats from the Taliban if returned to Afghanistan.
The New York Times has also reported that more than 150 Afghan migrants could be transferred to other countries in what may become one of the largest mass deportation operations involving Afghan nationals from the United States.
According to the report, US authorities have already detained dozens of Afghans in Louisiana, and the first deportation flight could take place early next week.
