Former Afghan Soldier Dies by Suicide Amid Economic Hardship in Logar

DID Press: Local sources in Afghanistan’s Logar province say a former member of the country’s military has died by suicide amid economic difficulties in Azra district.

The man, identified as Orangzeb, was 34 years old and had served in various military positions under Afghanistan’s former government.

Local sources cited economic hardship as the reason behind the incident.

The incident comes as some former Afghan military and security personnel have faced unemployment, financial difficulties and security concerns since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan.

While some former military personnel have left the country, others remain in Afghanistan and continue to face economic and security challenges.
