Iranians and Afghans Rally in Frankfurt in Support of Iran

DID Press: Hundreds of Iranians, Afghans and Shia citizens from Iraq, Lebanon and Pakistan gathered in the German city of Frankfurt to express support for the Islamic Republic of Iran and condemn US attacks against the country and what they described as an imposed war.

The rally took place alongside a ceremony at a German museum to present an award to Reza Pahlavi. Participants used the gathering to voice their opposition to the war against Iran.

Hojatoleslam Mashkur Kabuli, one of the rally’s organisers, stressed the need to stand with what he called the “front of truth” and described the German institution’s decision to give an award to Reza Pahlavi as wrong.

He characterised the US attack on Iran as an assault on the pursuit of truth and justice, and called on the German federal government to stand with peace and civilians rather than support war, while backing diplomatic solutions.

The Friday prayer leader of Frankfurt also referred to the denial of education to girls in Afghanistan and restrictions imposed on the country’s citizens, urging the German government to take a clearer position against Taliban policies.
