Women activists in central Ghor province massively went to a Vote Registration center in the province and registered themselves; a move to encourage people to participate in the election process.

“With this move, women want from the people, specially women, to attend the registration and then the election process,” said Farida Naseri, responsible for the provincial Human Rights Bureau.

“Most of the women in Ghor province are deprived of the national process due to insecurity and not having Tazkira,” she added.

Mahtab Khalida, a civil activist, said women should participate in the election the same as men to elect competent candidates for the future of the country.

This comes as Fazlullah Jalal, the chairman of the Provincial Electoral Committee says the presence of women in the election process is weak due to not having a national identity card.

According to the election commission’s statistics, over one million voters have registered their names across the country so far.
