Pakistan Army Issues Warning Over Alleged Militant Networks in Afghanistan

DID Press: Pakistan Army has issued a strong warning, stating it will take “full-scale action” against alleged proxy groups operating in Afghanistan, amid rising cross-border tensions.

In a statement following a recent visit by Field Marshal Asim Munir to border regions, the military said it is closely monitoring security developments and responding to what it described as persistent cross-border threats.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said Pakistani forces have exercised restraint while effectively responding to threats along the border, claiming that militant positions and support networks have been targeted with precision strikes. It also said several infiltration attempts into Pakistan in recent weeks were successfully foiled.

The statement further referred to a temporary pause in operations earlier this year, saying the gesture of restraint had been met with continued cross-border incidents and attempted infiltrations. It accused hostile elements of operating from Afghan territory and claimed an increase in militant activity inside Pakistan.

Tensions between Islamabad and Kabul have escalated in recent months, with Pakistan repeatedly accusing Afghan authorities of failing to control armed groups operating near the shared border.
