The provincial officials from western Farah province have recently said that a Qatari airplane landed in the province at the invitation of Sayed Wahid Qatali, former mayor of Herat province.
The Qatari airplane was landed in Farah about two days ago, Shah Mahmood Naeemi, the deputy to Farah provincial council said.
Naeemi claimed that the Qatari airplane was landed in Farah at the invitation of Wahid Qatali – former mayor of Herat province, adding that they (Qatari people) visit Afghanistan every winter to check the projects and to hunt.

This is not the first time that Arabs travel to a west part of Afghanistan for hunting. Earlier, some Arab people visited Herat province at the invitation of a Jihadi leader and hunted rare birds.
According to Farah Provincial Council Deputy Chairman, Qataris hunt for a period of 20 to 30 days in a protected forest with an area of nearly 20,000 acres of land. This protected forest is said to be located 40 kilometers away from Farah province which is under the control of insurgents.

Meanwhile, Khair Mohammad Noorzai, another member of the provincial council said that the Qatari airplanes land in Farah without any coordination with the Afghan government.
The Afghan government has not yet commented.
