Zalmay Rasool, along with Abdul Jabbar Taqwa and Ghulam Ali Vahdat, as his first and second vice presidents, went to the Independent Election Commission (IEC) and registered for the presidential election.
Mr. Rasool has already had the presidential nomination experience in his record, but in the past, he did not get many votes.
Although only five days remained till the presidential registration deadline, several candidates have not yet registered.
The IEC has announced that deadline for registration will not be extended.
However, Latif Pedram, Hakim Torsan, Sayed Norollah Jalili, Enayatullah Hafiz, and Zalmay Rasool have registered themselves so far.
