Speaking at the 37th session of the human rights council, the chief executive of NUG Dr. Abdullah Abdullah said in Geneva that there is no safe place for civilians in Afghanistan.

“There is no safe place in Afghanistan. Mosques, hospitals, schools, universities, media centers, markets and other parts are vulnerable,” said Abdullah Abdullah in his rhetoric on behalf of Afghanistan – which for the first time became a member of the United Nations Universal Human Rights Council.
“Civilians and Afghan security forces have been victims of regional terrorism and the NUG is trying to find a solution to the security of the people of Afghanistan,” Mr. Abdullah said, “insecurity is the main reason behind immigration.”
“We have given documents on the safe havens of terrorists outside Afghanistan to the UN Security Council and our demand is to eliminate all of them,” the chief executive added.

Mr. Abdullah also met with UN’s secretary General on the sideline of the summit.

The United Nations Secretary-General has emphasized on regional cooperation and integration for the establishment of peace in Afghanistan.
During the meeting, Antonio Guterres said the United Nations will continue its efforts in the field of election, reforms, and peace efforts in Afghanistan.

It is worth mentioning that Human rights organizations have expressed concern over the deterioration of human rights, in particular, the rise in violence against women in Afghanistan.
