President M. Ashraf Ghani has asked former president Hamid Karzai to curb the protest of Kandahar elders and political forces over former Kandahar police chief Gen. Raziq’s assassination, a source told DID press agency.
Although president Ghani visited Raziq’s family and elders in the province on Tuesday, the source said that the president’s remarks have not contented his family and Kandahar elders.

During the trip to Kandahar, president Ghani asked Pakistan to hand over Raziq’s assassin plotters to Kabul.
On Wednesday, Ata M. Noor along with a group of political elders traveled to Kandahar to pay tribute to Gen. Raziq’s family.

The members of the Grand National Coalition will make a decision in regard to Raziq’s assassination, a member of the GNC said.
In the past presidential election, General Raziq was with Ghani’s team, but his relations with Ghani became tense.
