The US Special Representative on Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad reacted against Taliban’s claim, saying US would draw down its troops in Afghanistan.
“The Americans told us (last month) that they would withdraw half of their troops from the beginning of February to the end of April,” Taliban official Abdul Salam Hanafi was quoted as saying by RIA.
Meanwhile, Mr Khalilzad said that there is “no timetable for the troop withdrawal from Afghanistan”.
A US State Department spokeswoman also said Wednesday that Washington had “not agreed to any timeline for a possible drawdown of troops.
