Taliban political spokesman Suhail Shaheen says that peace negotiations between US-Taliban resumed from where they were ceased.
“Today IEA negotiation team led by the respected M. Baradar Akhund resumed talks with US teams from where they were broken off. Talks revolved around signing of agreement and related issues. Negotiations shall continue tomorrow,” twitted Suhail Shaheen.
He added that Anas Haqqani also participated in the discussions as Taliban’s member of the negotiation team.
This comes as President Trump on his trip to Afghanistan said that Taliban are interested in signing an agreement.
