Following massive two-day protests that were sparked after the detention of Alipur by Afghan National Directorate of Security (NDS), the government forced to comply and although on bail, freed him.
After being released, he met the second Vice President Mohammad Sarwar Danish in the presidential palace on Monday night.

In a televised broadcast, Afghan Interior Minister Wais Ahmad Barmak said that Mr Alipour was released on a high-security guarantee and that people should go to their homes.

“We have not received the number of causalities of the protesters in Kabul over the past two days but that 48 security force members were wounded,” Deputy Interior Minister General Akhtar Mohammad Ibrahimi said on Monday.
However, according to eyewitnesses, 6 to 7 protesters were killed and dozens of others were injured as the protest turned violent.
