Local officials in eastern Nangarhar province confirmed armed Taliban torched a school in Momendara district Tuesday at 3:00 am (local time).



Local officials in eastern Nangarhar province confirmed armed Taliban torched a school in Momendara district Tuesday at 3:00 am (local time).

“Armed Taliban broke into a school in Nangarhar’s Momendara district around 3:00 am and set on fire the office of the school,” said Nangarhar’s provincial spokesperson Ataullah Khugyani.
“The fire burned all documents at the school,” he added.

According to local officials, the fire was put out by the officials of the school and now the school is open to students.
Taliban have recently set on fire several schools in the province.
