US Jerusalem Move Not Legitimize Israel
Heads of Islamic countries at the extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul, slammed Trump’s Quds decision, saying it will escalate the crisis in the Middle East, adding there is no logic for not recognizing Palestine as an independent country.
According to DID news agency report, the Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, “America cannot act as a peace mediator in the Middle East anymore, because, it backs up the cruelty and aggression of Israel, saying there is a peace message in Jerusalem.”
Mr. Erdogan has called on countries who follow international law to recognize Jerusalem as the “occupied capital” of Palestine.
The Turkish president called on the U.S. to withdraw their “wrong, provocative and unlawful” decision.
Meanwhile, Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas said, Trump decision does not legitimize Israel.
“Israel has occupied Palestine and prevent Muslims and Christians to worship by the Israeli regime,” Mr. Abbas added.
“Jerusalem will remain as the capital of Palestine and no country can award it to Israel,” Palestinian authority leader underlined.
