Following the publication of reports about the withdrawal of the New National Front party (NNF) of Afghanistan led by Anwar ul-Haq Ahady, Noor ul-Rahman Akhlaqi, a member of the leadership council of the Grand National Coalition (GNC) clarified issues and the reason for the withdrawal of Mr Ahady and the party led by him from the GNC.
“last Wednesday, during the GNC session at the home of professor Mohammad Mohaqiq, the leader of Hezb-e Wahdat-e Islami of Afghanistan, it was comprehensively discussed about the GNC’s program for the upcoming election and the type of military structure the coalition wants to create. Mr Ahady had some differences over these issues, but he clearly said that he accepts the coalition’s plan on the condition that his nomination from the address of the coalition must be accepted,” Mr Akhlaqi wrote on his Facebook page.
“for the GNC in the upcoming election, the program has the first place and nomination the second. In addition, the priority of the GNC is that its nominee should be from the core and believe in the coalition’s program, so as to ensure that he will not break the alliance after gaining the power,” Akhlaqi continued.
According to the explanations of Mr Akhlaqi, “the main issue of Mr. Ahady’s withdrawal from the coalition, is that his nomination from the coalition address will not be accepted.
“coalitions are the place, where the interests of political movements are based on their beliefs, and if a movement does not see its interests in a coalition, it is natural that it will get out of it and it’s a common issue in the world of politics,” the member of the coalition added.
It has already reported that Anwar ul-Haq Ahady withdrew from the coalition over the coalition’s structure.
It is worth mentioning that the NNF led by Anwar ul-Haq Ahady will individually continue their cooperation with the members of the GNC.
