DID Press: A report by Axios says an unexpected social media post by US President Donald Trump declaring that Israel is prohibited from launching further attacks on Lebanon caught Israeli officials off guard and prompted urgent requests for clarification from Washington.

According to the report, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his advisers were stunned by the sudden statement, saying the message appeared to contradict the terms of the existing ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon. Sources familiar with the matter indicated that Israeli officials contacted the White House seeking further explanation.
In his social media message, Trump stated that “Israel will not bomb Lebanon anymore,” adding: “They have been told by the United States not to do it. Enough is enough!”
According to Axios sources, the statement represents an unprecedented signal, as such a direct restriction from Washington on Israeli military action was previously considered “unimaginable” under earlier US administrations.
The development comes amid rising tensions between Israel and Lebanon in recent weeks, which have recently resulted in a temporary ceasefire.
