Afghanistan Exports $18M Worth of Carpets and Kilims to 37 Countries
DID Press: Afghanistan Carpet Association announced that a total of 6,000 carpet pieces and 4,000 square meters of kilim were exported to 37 countries over the past solar year, with a total value of $18 million.

According to Abdullah Rahman Qol, head of the association, the largest share of exports went to the United States, Turkey, and several European countries.
He added that domestic carpet processing capacity is increasing inside Afghanistan, and that expanding this sector could potentially create around 50,000 jobs across the country.
