Pakistan: Balochistan Attacks Directed from Afghanistan Territory

DID Press: Senior officials in Balochistan have claimed there is concrete evidence indicating that recent terrorist attacks and cross-border infiltrations are being carried out by groups entering Pakistan from Afghanistan.

Speaking at a press conference in Quetta, officials including Hamza Shafqaat, Aitzaz Goraya, and Babar Yousafzai stated that militants allegedly cross into Balochistan from Afghan territory, carry out attacks, and then return across the border.

Yousafzai noted a shift in tactics by extremist networks, warning that such groups are increasingly using women and children to advance their operations—an approach he described as unethical and contrary to local traditions.

He cited a recent case in which, according to authorities, the husband of a female suicide bomber reportedly took her to Afghanistan for training prior to carrying out an attack. Officials warned that extremist groups are exploiting family and personal relationships to achieve operational objectives.

Since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan, Islamabad has repeatedly accused the group of providing safe haven to militant organizations, particularly Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, allegations that Taliban authorities have consistently denied.
