Taliban Orders Nationwide Relaxation of Construction Restrictions Across Afghanistan

DID Press: Taliban Prime Minister’s Office has instructed all central and provincial departments to allow citizens to resume construction activities nationwide, provided they present valid religious and customary documentation.

According to the directive, residents will be permitted to carry out building and renovation work after submitting documents such as a religious deed, tax receipt, property transaction certificate, or customary ownership proof, along with confirmation from the local mosque imam.

The order also instructs security forces not to obstruct construction activities and to cooperate fully with citizens during the process.

This decision comes after years of reported restrictions on construction permits in various provinces, which analysts say contributed to stalled development projects, reduced employment opportunities, and economic uncertainty.

Observers note that the new policy could ease administrative barriers, potentially revitalizing the construction sector and unlocking previously delayed infrastructure and housing projects across the country.
