Humanitarian Crisis Warning After Severe Flooding in Eastern Afghanistan
DID Press: International Organization for Migration has warned of a growing humanitarian emergency following recent flash floods in eastern Afghanistan, where approximately 2,000 families have been affected in Nangarhar Province.

Heavy rainfall triggered widespread flooding across the region, leaving thousands of residents without shelter and causing significant destruction to homes, farmland, roads, and key infrastructure.
According to the IOM, many affected families have lost both their homes and livelihoods, worsening already fragile living conditions. Local authorities report that emergency response teams have been deployed to assess damage and provide immediate assistance.
Humanitarian agencies have also warned that continued rainfall could trigger further flooding, increasing the scale of the disaster. Meanwhile, displaced families are facing shortages of shelter, food, and medical services, and are calling for urgent national and international support.
