Pakistan Claims Afghanistan Linked to Bannu Attack

DID Press: Pakistan has claimed that the recent attack on a police checkpoint in the northwestern district of Bannu was planned and directed from Afghan territory.

Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi told reporters that the assessment was based on intelligence findings, technical data, and available evidence.

He said Pakistan had conveyed its security concerns to the Taliban administration and urged it to take “immediate, practical and tangible” action against armed groups operating in the region.

According to Andrabi, Islamabad specifically called for action against Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, بلوچ separatist groups, and Islamic State Khorasan Province.

The remarks come amid a recent surge in militant attacks in Pakistan’s border regions, further straining relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan over security concerns.
