EU, Eurasia Express Joint Concern Over Security Threats from Afghanistan
DID Press: Security chiefs of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) and the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) have emphasized continued monitoring of developments in Afghanistan and stronger cooperation to address regional security threats.

CSTO Secretary-General Imangali Tasmagambetov held talks in Vienna with OSCE Secretary-General Feridun Sinirlioğlu on regional security dynamics and the implications of the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan.
Both sides described Afghanistan as one of the most significant security challenges facing the region and stressed the need for continuous assessment of developments on the ground.
According to CSTO officials, the organization’s Afghanistan working group regularly reviews the security situation and shares joint assessments in coordination with international partners.
The CSTO leadership also called for closer cooperation between regional and international organizations to address cross-border threats linked to Afghanistan.
Officials from both institutions agreed to maintain regular contact and strengthen joint efforts aimed at regional stability and global security.
Recent CSTO meetings, including a working group session in Moscow, reportedly highlighted concerns over persistent security threats originating from Afghanistan, including militant activity, cross-border extremist movement, drug trafficking, and humanitarian impacts of the ongoing crisis.
