Kazakhstan Grain Exports to Afghanistan More Than Double
DID Press: Kazakhstan has recorded a sharp increase in grain exports to Afghanistan, with shipments more than doubling compared to the previous year, according to Kazakhstan Railways.

Official figures released by Kazakh media show the country’s total grain exports rose from 10.3 million tons to more than 11.7 million tons, marking an overall increase of 13.6 percent.
Exports to Afghanistan registered the strongest growth, rising from 1.3 million tons to 3 million tons — a 2.3-fold increase.
Grain exports to Uzbekistan also climbed by 39.5 percent, increasing from 3.5 million tons to 4.8 million tons. Exports to Kyrgyzstan rose by 1.5 times, from 297,000 tons to 457,000 tons.
According to the report, exports to Turkmenistan increased by 47.7 percent, reaching 192,000 tons from 130,000 tons.
Kazakh officials said the positive trend reflects growing global demand for Kazakh grain, improved export logistics, and expanding economic and trade cooperation with international partners.
Separate reports also indicate that Kazakhstan’s agricultural exports to Spain doubled in 2025, with grain, legumes, and edible oils making up the bulk of shipments.
Kazakhstan and China are also reportedly planning to launch a joint grain trade platform.
