US Fully Suspends Financial Aid to Afghanistan
DID Press: US Department of State has announced that all financial assistance from Washington to Afghanistan has been suspended until further notice, following a directive from President Donald Trump.

The decision comes amid growing warnings from the United Nations and humanitarian organizations about worsening humanitarian conditions and rising food insecurity in Afghanistan.
According to the State Department, the suspension is part of a broader review of U.S. foreign aid policies, with concerns that portions of the assistance could be accessed by the Taliban cited as a key reason for the move.
Officials said the funding will remain on hold until a full review is completed and assurances are made regarding the proper use of the aid.
The announcement has drawn concern from international aid agencies. The World Food Programme has recently warned that critical food supplies for malnourished mothers and children in Afghanistan are running low, and that millions could lose access to essential assistance if new funding is not secured.
