Russia Fuel Transit to Afghanistan Begins via Caspian Rail Corridor
DID Press: A 5,000-ton shipment of fuel imported from Russia has been transported to Afghanistan through the newly activated rail infrastructure at the Caspian Port, marking the start of a new transit route.

The first consignment arrived via the Caspian Sea and was unloaded at the Kaspian Port Complex, before being transferred by rail toward Afghanistan.
Mostafa Taati-Moghadam confirmed the operation, saying the shipment was moved as part of efforts to expand international transit corridors and strengthen regional transport networks.
He added that the new route is designed to improve trade connectivity with Central Asian and Eurasian countries while reducing logistics costs.
According to officials, the development of a combined sea-rail transport system at the Caspian Port could also enable the transit of additional goods, including petrochemicals and grain shipments, in the future.
