Protests Erupt in Ireland Over Arms Exports to Israel

DID Press: Large-scale demonstrations have taken place in Dublin and several other cities across Ireland, protesting continued military exports linked to Israel amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Protesters carried Palestinian flags and banners calling for freedom and justice, urging the Irish government and the international community to move beyond symbolic diplomacy and adopt concrete punitive measures.

Demonstrators specifically demanded a full ban on arms exports and military aircraft components to Israel, including parts associated with F-35 Lightning II aircraft, which they claim are used in strikes affecting civilians in Gaza.

They also called for broader economic sanctions, including a ban on imports from Israeli settlements and restrictions on companies operating in Ireland that provide logistical or technical support to Israel’s military industry.

The protests reflect growing public pressure in parts of Europe for stronger governmental action regarding arms trade policies linked to the Gaza conflict.
