Yemen Declares Red Sea Ban on Israel-Linked Shipping Amid Escalation

DID Press: Yemen’s armed forces announced that all vessels linked to Israel are now prohibited from transiting the Red Sea, amid escalating regional tensions and renewed missile activity toward Israeli-held areas.

In a statement, Yemen’s armed forces said they had launched a wave of missile strikes targeting what they described as “sensitive objectives” in the occupied area of Tel Aviv, claiming the attacks were carried out with precision.

The statement framed the escalation under what it called the “unity of arenas” principle, describing the move as a response to ongoing regional confrontations involving the United States and Israel across Iran, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen.

Shipping Ban in the Red Sea

Yemen’s forces declared an immediate and total ban on maritime traffic linked to Israel in the Red Sea, stating that any such vessels would be treated as legitimate military targets.

Warning of Further Escalation

The statement warned that any escalation by the United States or Israel would be met with expanded military operations, with the scope of actions said to depend on battlefield developments and coordination with allied regional actors.

Continued Military Position

The armed forces also reiterated their stance against what they described as blockade conditions affecting populations in Yemen and allied regions, including Gaza and other Middle Eastern states, stating that operations would continue as long as hostilities persist.
