Russia Calls for Probe Into Alleged Killings of Afghan Civilians by British Forces
DID Press: Russia has called for a thorough investigation into allegations that British special forces were involved in the unlawful killing of Afghan civilians during military operations in Afghanistan.

According to Maria Zakharova, new evidence has emerged concerning alleged extrajudicial killings carried out by members of the Special Air Service between 2010 and 2013.
Zakharova stated that the reports accuse British special forces personnel of killing at least 50 Afghan citizens, including elderly people and children, under disputed circumstances during that period.
She added that some investigations suggest the number of potential civilian victims could be as high as 80.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that the allegations should be examined through a comprehensive and transparent process and that any individuals found responsible should be held accountable.
The remarks come amid continuing scrutiny of the conduct of British special forces in Afghanistan. In recent years, a number of media investigations, legal reviews, and public inquiries have examined allegations relating to military operations conducted during the conflict.
