Karzai: Ashura Symbol of Resistance Against Injustice and Deviation

DID Press: Hamid Karzai has marked the occasion of Ashura, describing the uprising of Imam Hussein as a symbol of reform, moral responsibility, and resistance against social deviation and injustice.

In a statement released on the day of Ashura, Karzai paid tribute to the martyrs of Karbala and emphasized the ethical and social lessons of the event.

He said the message of Ashura is rooted in the reform of society, accountability, and standing firm against corruption, deviation, and oppression.

Karzai added that the people of Afghanistan, like Muslims around the world, observe Ashura and regard the love of the Prophet’s family as an important factor for unity and Islamic solidarity.

He also called on citizens to draw inspiration from the spiritual message of the occasion and work toward national unity, progress, and the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
