UN Declares 2027–2036 ‘International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations’
DID Press: UN General Assembly has adopted a resolution designating 2027–2036 as the “International Decade for Strengthening Peace for Future Generations,” following an initiative introduced by Emomali Rahmon.

The resolution, proposed by Tajikistan and adopted by the UN General Assembly, emphasizes the promotion of peace, dialogue, intergenerational solidarity, and the peaceful settlement of disputes in accordance with the UN Charter.
It calls on member states to strengthen a culture of peace, expand dialogue mechanisms, and ensure greater participation of different generations in decision-making processes to support long-term stability and sustainable peace.
The document also commends the efforts of Central Asian countries—particularly Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan—in peacefully resolving border-related issues through diplomatic means.
It further requests the UN Secretary-General to facilitate the implementation of programs under the decade in cooperation with member states and relevant international organizations.
