DID Press: Iran has launched a new wave of missile and drone strikes against US military positions in Jordan, Kuwait, and Iraq, with US officials confirming casualties and damage as the confrontation between Tehran and Washington intensifies.
According to Iranian media, the latest phase of Operation Saegheh targeted American military assets, including Ali Al Salem Air Base and Camp Al Adairi in Kuwait, using precision missiles and one-way attack drones.
Iraqi sources also reported multiple explosions near the US Consulate in Erbil and an attack on Al Harir Air Base. Separately, cyberattacks targeting US and Emirati gas companies operating in northern Iraq were also reported.
According to The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, citing US officials, two American service members were killed, one remains missing, and several others were wounded in the attack on Muwaffaq Al Salti Air Base in Jordan. The reports added that manned and unmanned aircraft, along with radar systems, sustained significant damage.
Responding to the developments, Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, warned that any further US “aggression or coercion” would be met with a “decisive and devastating” response by Iranian armed forces. He also claimed Washington was seeking to exploit internal divisions after suffering military setbacks.
Military analysts say the conflict has expanded beyond isolated incidents, now encompassing a network of US bases, logistics hubs, and radar infrastructure across multiple countries, raising concerns over a broader regional escalation.
