Hairatan Exports Surge to Nearly $68 Million

DID Press: Exports from Afghanistan’s strategic Hairatan Port reached $67.87 million during the first three months of the current year, driven by strong growth in agricultural and industrial shipments, the Balkh Chamber of Commerce and Investment said.

According to chamber officials, Afghanistan exported industrial and agricultural products worth $67.87 million through Hairatan to Central Asian markets during the first quarter of the year.

Fresh and dried fruits accounted for the largest share of exports, recording a 67% year-on-year increase, which officials attributed to improved packaging, expanded cold storage capacity, and broader access to Central Asian markets.

The chamber said Hairatan Port remains one of Afghanistan’s most important export gateways, adding that the latest growth reflects rising domestic production capacity and a stronger presence of Afghan products in regional markets.
