Taliban Figure Reacts to Spain’s Title: ‘Humanity Won’

DID Press: A senior Taliban-linked official has reacted to Spain’s championship victory by declaring that “humanity has won,” sharing an image of Spanish star Lamine Yamal alongside the Palestinian flag.

Mohammad Jalal, a member of the Taliban’s Cultural Commission and a close associate of Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani, reposted the image on social media shortly after Spain secured the title.

In a brief message, Jalal wrote: “Humanity won.”

His post came as Spain’s triumph was widely accompanied on social media by displays of solidarity with Palestine, with images of Lamine Yamal becoming one of the most shared symbols following the final.
