DID Press: Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has issued a new statement attributed to its leader, Mufti Noor Wali Mehsud, threatening Pakistan’s military, government institutions and several public service facilities, while claiming that its operations are directed solely against security forces.
In the statement, the TTP warned Pakistan’s military, state institutions, electricity distribution companies and organizers of so-called police committee meetings of potential attacks.
The group claimed that its primary targets are Pakistan’s military and security forces, while urging civilians to avoid any cooperation with the armed forces, security agencies or government institutions.
The statement further warned that individuals who support or work alongside state security forces would bear responsibility for any consequences arising from the group’s operations.
The TTP also declared that organizers and participants of so-called “police committee” meetings, as well as marketplaces associated with the drug trade, have been placed on its list of targets and could face direct attacks if their activities continue.
