Afghanistan Air Sports Chief Killed in Bamyan Paragliding Crash

DID Press: Navid Popal, head of Afghanistan’s Air Sports Federation, has died after a paragliding accident during a training session in Bamyan Province, according to the provincial Physical Education and Sports Department.

Officials said Popal was involved in a paragliding exercise when he fell from a height and sustained fatal injuries.

Popal had served as president of the Afghanistan Air Sports Federation since 2017 and was regarded as one of the active figures in the country’s air sports community.
