Guterres Urges Israel to Halt Incursions into Syrian Territory
DID Press: UN Secretary-General António Guterres has called on Israel to immediately stop its incursions into Syrian territory, describing the actions in the occupied Golan Heights as “unacceptable” and reaffirming the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In a post on X, Guterres said violations of the 1974 Disengagement of Forces Agreement between Syria and Israel, signed after the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, are unacceptable and must cease immediately.
The UN chief also stressed the importance of fully respecting Syria’s sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity, urging all parties to comply with international law and existing agreements.
The remarks come amid continued Israeli military operations inside Syria following the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s government, with Israel carrying out repeated cross-border incursions that have drawn regional and international attention.
