Fazlur Rehman Urges Pakistan to Tackle Domestic Crises, Not Bomb Afghanistan

DID Press: Maulana Fazlur Rehman, leader of Pakistan’s Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), has criticized Islamabad’s policy toward Afghanistan, urging the government to address Pakistan’s internal political, economic, and security challenges instead of escalating military tensions with its neighbor.

Speaking on Pakistan’s domestic situation, Fazlur Rehman said the country is facing multiple crises and warned that increasing tensions with Afghanistan would neither resolve those problems nor contribute to regional stability.

He called on Pakistani authorities to prioritize restoring stability at home rather than pursuing military measures or intensifying cross-border confrontations.

Referring to strained relations between Islamabad and Kabul, Fazlur Rehman urged both sides to end hostilities and abandon mutual accusations, arguing that bilateral disputes can only be resolved through dialogue and constructive engagement.

The JUI-F leader also said that, in his view, Afghanistan’s current situation is better than Pakistan’s, adding that conflict between the two countries would bring no benefit to either side and would only deepen insecurity and instability across the region.
