Freedom Front Claims Two Taliban Members Killed in Jalalabad Attack

DID Press: Afghanistan Freedom Front said its fighters attacked a Taliban intelligence chief’s compound in the sixth police district of Jalalabad, killing two Taliban members and wounding another. The Taliban has not yet commented on the claim.

The Afghanistan Freedom Front said its forces carried out a targeted attack on the compound of the Taliban’s intelligence chief in Jalalabad’s sixth district. According to a statement issued by the group, two Taliban members were killed and another was wounded in the operation.

The group said it had no information about the condition of the Taliban intelligence chief in the district following the attack. Taliban officials had not commented on the incident at the time of publication.

In recent weeks, the Afghanistan Freedom Front and other anti-Taliban groups have stepped up attacks in different parts of Afghanistan. The group said on Friday that its forces had also launched rocket attacks targeting Kabul’s military airport.

Security analysts say the continued attacks by anti-Taliban groups across Afghanistan pose a growing challenge to the Taliban’s security apparatus. Although the attacks may lack strategic coordination or a unified command structure, analysts warn that their persistence and geographic spread could place increasing pressure on the Taliban’s security system.
