Detailed Plan for Returnee Settlement Signed in Afghanistan’s Kunduz

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Taliban-run Ministry of Urban Development and Housing has approved the detailed development plan for a settlement for returning migrants in Asqalan, Gul Tepa district of Kunduz province.

The ministry said the plan was finalized after completion of topographic surveys and signed by Minister of Urban Development and Housing Mawlawi Najibullah Hayat Haqqani.

The settlement will cover 3,294 jeribs of land and include 2,598 residential plots, according to the ministry.

Officials said the project aims to provide suitable housing for returning migrants and establish standardized urban services in Kunduz.

The ministry added that work on detailed plans for residential settlements for returnees is continuing in several Afghan provinces, with similar projects expected to be developed in other areas.
