Taliban Official: TAPI Project in Herat to Be Completed Within Two Months
DID Press: Noor Ahmad Islamjar, the Taliban-appointed governor of Herat, has said work on the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project in Herat province is expected to be completed within the next two months.

Islamjar made the remarks at the inauguration of the administrative building of the Herat Chamber of Industries and Mines. He said Turkmen officials had completed their part of the project and would subsequently hand over the work to officials in Herat.
He also called on residents and factory owners in the Herat industrial park to make the necessary preparations for the start of gas pipeline installation.
The TAPI project is one of the region’s major energy initiatives. It is designed to connect Afghanistan with Turkmenistan’s natural gas network and extend supplies to Pakistan and India, with the potential to support economic and industrial development in Herat and other parts of Afghanistan.
