Hundreds of Taliban Forces Surround Kabul’s Khatam al-Nabieen Seminary

DID Press: Hundreds of armed forces from the Taliban’s Ministry of Justice have been deployed around the Khatam al-Nabieen Islamic Seminary in Kabul, according to reports, while electricity to the area has also been cut.

Earlier reports said the seminary had been surrounded by Taliban forces and that authorities were seeking to evacuate the religious and educational center. However, a number of students remain inside the compound.

More than 2,500 Kabul residents have reportedly gathered around the seminary, according to local sources. The sources said Taliban forces attempted to disperse the crowd under cover of darkness and arrest several seminary teachers.

Students reportedly resisted the arrests of their teachers, with clashes and forcible confrontations occurring between Taliban forces and people at the site.
