Taliban Industry Minister Travels to Belarus for Intl Industrial Exhibition

DID Press: Nooruddin Azizi, the Taliban’s acting Minister of Industry and Commerce, has traveled to Belarus at the official invitation of the Belarusian government, according to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce.

The ministry said the visit is aimed at attending the second International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Belarus” and exploring ways to expand economic and trade cooperation between Afghanistan and Belarus. The 2026 exhibition is scheduled to take place in Minsk from September 30 to October 2.

During the visit, Azizi is expected to tour the international industrial exhibition and attend the general session involving participating countries.

The ministry also said Azizi is scheduled to meet with Belarusian ministers responsible for foreign affairs, agriculture and industry to discuss bilateral economic and trade cooperation.

The visit follows earlier contacts between Azizi and Belarusian officials. In April, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce said Azizi met Belarusian Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov during a visit to Uzbekistan, where the two sides discussed increasing bilateral trade and possible purchases of diesel and petrol from Belarus.
