Russia: Western Intervention Is a Major Cause of Instability in the Middle East
DID Press: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has blamed Western countries for what he described as instability and escalating crises in the Middle East, warning that their intervention in regional affairs could have serious consequences.

Lavrov said Western countries’ overt involvement in Middle Eastern affairs had contributed to instability in the region and affected countries participating in the Moscow Format consultations on Afghanistan.
Russia has also expressed concern over the impact of ongoing developments surrounding Iran on the global economy, warning that the consequences could be significant for international economic stability. Recent disruptions and security risks in the Middle East have already affected energy markets and shipping through the region.
Moscow has expressed hope that diplomatic efforts by regional countries, including Egypt, Pakistan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, can help manage the crisis through political and diplomatic channels.
Lavrov has recently reiterated Russia’s opposition to Western and NATO military infrastructure in Afghanistan and neighboring countries, arguing that such a presence could contribute to regional destabilization.
