DID Press: Moshe “Bogie” Ya’alon, Israel’s former defence minister and former chief of staff of the Israeli military, has called on leaders of parties opposing Benjamin Netanyahu to act swiftly to form a new government and take control of the Knesset.
Israel’s Channel 14 reported that Ya’alon, in a post on X, urged leaders of the so-called “Change Bloc” to set aside their differences and accelerate efforts to form a new government to prevent Netanyahu from remaining in power.
The remarks come as elections for Israel’s 26th Knesset have been underway since the previous day. Parties opposed to Netanyahu are seeking to coordinate their efforts to gain greater influence in parliament.
Media reports have also indicated that options are being considered to change the Knesset’s leadership and strengthen coordination among opposition parties.
