DID Press: Daniel Davis, a retired US Army officer, has warned Washington against underestimating Iran’s missile capabilities, saying a renewed war with Iran could put US aircraft carriers at risk of destruction.

Davis made the remarks in response to comments by Mohsen Rezaei, a former commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), about the potential consequences of a military conflict with Iran.
He said Iran’s threats should not be dismissed as mere rhetoric, arguing that Iranian missiles have managed to penetrate US air defence systems.
Referring to the central role of aircraft carriers in US military power, Davis urged Washington to exercise extreme caution in dealing with Iran. He said the best way to protect the vessels would be to avoid launching another war against the country.
Davis’s comments followed Rezaei’s warning that Iran would inflict a heavy blow on the United States if war broke out and would challenge its defensive capabilities.
